2. What data we collect
Contact form. When you send us a message we collect the name, email address, company (optional) and message you provide, together with the site language you used.
Technical data. To protect the form against abuse, our servers briefly process your IP address for rate limiting. This is held only in memory and is not stored permanently.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
3. Cookies & local storage
Both are strictly functional, set no tracking identifiers and are not shared with third parties. Because we set no marketing or analytics cookies, no consent banner is required.
- geist-theme (local storage) — remembers your light/dark preference.
- geist-locale (cookie, 1 year) — remembers your language choice so we can show the right version of the site.
4. Why we use your data & legal basis
- To respond to your enquiry and take steps towards providing our services — Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) and Art. 6(1)(f) (our legitimate interest in answering enquiries).
- To keep the contact form secure against spam and abuse — Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
5. Who we share data with
We use the following processors, who handle data on our behalf under data-processing agreements:
- Supabase — database hosting; stores your contact submission.
- Resend — email delivery; sends us a notification of your enquiry.
- Vercel — website hosting and infrastructure.
6. International data transfers
geist is a US-based company and some of the providers above process data in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. We apply GDPR-level protection to enquiries from the EEA and UK regardless of where you are located.
7. How long we keep it
We keep contact submissions only for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable follow-up period, after which they are deleted.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@geist8.com.
